The foundation of my professional development lies in the Clinical Psychology degree obtained in my country of origin.
Upon conferral of my degree, I took advantage of a host of opportunities in the form of internships, trainings, and additional degrees in Europe and USA.
It was through 20 years of experience in different environments (schools, hospitals, NGOs, geriatric centers, outpatient clinics, etc.), different countries, and with a variety of populations, that I fine-tuned my perspective and work as a practitioner, and came to value the uniqueness of every individual even more. And it is through these experiences that I view my work through a multicultural lens. In this way, I can approach my clients’ circumstances with an open mind while also having respectful but candid conversations with them.
No matter where we are from, our gender, what our beliefs are, what we look like, or what we are looking for in life… We all deserve to be heard, we all deserve respect, and we all have the potential to change and improve. With this in mind, I create a safe space where you can bring what is important to you without the risk of being judged.
The relationship between psychotherapist and client is the most important agent for change in psychotherapy. I believe in a genuine relationship where real-talk can happen so I will not just listen to you but will express my perspective, use humor, and address specific aspects of your life that you need to work on.
I really love the special nature of this work. Finding joy in the job that you do is a privilege and I make sure to take advantage of my privilege by growing professionally and personally with intention because I want to continue doing what I do and I truly believe that every person on a path of growth deserves a transparent, prepared, and motivated professional to work with.
This work is important to you and it is definitely important to me, so, let’s talk about finding out the right path for you to follow.
Me
You
Might not be spending your life the way you would like to; long-standing patterns could be preventing you from a more fulfilling life; feeling stuck in a situation; presenting symptoms that limit you from functioning the way you used to…
In any case, circumstances are not what define you. Everyone has personal strengths that are helpful to improve and live better. Psychotherapy provides the tools you need to uncover those strengths, transform your thoughts, develop greater understanding of yourself, engage in healthier behaviors and relationship patterns, so that you can reach your own potential and create positive, sustainable change in your life.
This is a process designed to help you grow so that you will be able to confront difficulties that life will throw at you on your own or using the supports available to you, while feeling satisfied and independent.
Today you could be just seeking support during a difficult time (such as a loss), wanting to overcome uncomfortable symptoms, or pursuing to make more profound changes…the path to achieve any of this implies work. This work is often very rewarding but it can get difficult at times. Therefore, finding the right professional is essential to stablish a good therapeutic alliance that will support you throughout the process.
Let’s talk so you can get a sense of what can work for you!
